For the squealing brake pads, try making a couple hard stops (on a road with no one behind you of course) Make stops from about 60mph to zero as hard as you can without sliding the tires. Do a couple of those and see if your brake noise goes away.
Iv heard that for breaking in new brakes.
Will mabe try on way home feom work tonight.

I've got a 2500 and 1500. Can't remember which, but on one, there are round notches in the metal that fit over the stainless plates. As rust builds up on the cast iron under the stainless, it tightens up against the pad. On almost every set I've installed on them, I've had to file out those grooves so the pads can slide more freely. It's either that, the caliper slide bolts have seized, or a collapsed brake hose. I laughed at the collapsed brake hose theory, but it fixed my 95 chevy

I re greesed the slide pins. They were not seased any how. The pads did seem tight in the antirattle clips.( i think thats what they are called) mabe pull pads rite out and clean up a bit. Mabe lightly sand pads to take glase off if thats the problem too.
Its just anoying when ya have the window down.

I also had a colaped brake line on my 01 jimmy. Both rear calippers started haging on real hard. Didnt know a line could do that till then.

Yep you're onto what I was trying to describe. I file those round slots out on the pad frames so they slide better. I don't know about the "glazing " part. It's still got Chevy rotors on it that'll only last 80k.

I guess the caliper pistons could be hanging up too. I've replaced a couple on the '02. I know I don't piss around much anymore with calipers only being ~$40-$50. I'll try and fix once or twice, but after that I just throw a new one on. Not worth the headaches

I've found you can get round up (generic equivalent) at TSC for about 1/10 of what they charge for it at the big box stores.

Today I changed two more hydraulic hoses on the Bobcat, ran it a bit and spent the next several hours messing with the fuel system.

I chipped all the brush from some dead pine trees. The excitement was almost palpable. I thought there was dancing girls, party balloons and bourbon, but then I realized that I must have dreamed that part when I damn near fell asleep from boredom. But, I got it all done and brought it home. The wife and I even emptied the truck out and filled up the paths between the raised garden beds as it got dark. It just doesn't get any more exciting than this....

It always amazes me how small of a pile of chips a garage sized pile of brush makes. Wednesday I brought my chipper home from another property to deal with a large pile of branches but wound up just burning it to save time, effort and fuel. (the fire is still going...)

Went to church with family then had some fun takng down a small dieing maple in the front. Half way up was missng a bumch of bark and when i took the little bird house off behind the 2x6 was a bunch of little white worm looking things. Im guessing they are what killed it.

Finally got spark on the pioneer 1200 early this morning. Then after the kids had their breakfast we went and rode dirt bikes till lunch. Then we went and shooting and right now we're grilling out for dinner. We had a beautiful day today in western Pennsylvania.

Changed a Auto opening mover on a roof light in the Greenhouse ...mowed some grass . Had a walk around one of the fields that borders on the woodland i extract timber from to check out what i cut from windfalls and left to collect this spring . Grass had some nitrogen put on it a few days ago so its pushing on in the spring sun we have had. Always good to see some sun and blue sky this time of year.
