Today, nothing!!!

Yesterday:
- sharpened a TriLink chisel chain on my PS-6400
- mounted a new sprocket and Stihl RM chain on my PS-550
- ground off the safety feature "dual shark fins" off a TriLink semi chisel chain
- moved the entire yard and did numerous additional lines further into an adjoining unprocessed field of ours and a neighbors orchard, I had the mower set to its lowest literally scraping up dirt in uneven spots. Gotta love a 6HP walk behind mower that won't choke chewing high grass, grass roots and dirt!

I was dead tired, fell asleep in my TV chair.
Same damn deal regarding the mowing next Saturday!

Friday after work I showed a neighbor how to use the Archer FastFiler jig I got for him.
Also showed him how much faster a XS ported EA5000 with 3/8" chisel chain is compared to a factory stock Husqvarna 440 with .325" semi chisel.
He tried my XS and just dropped his jaw, literally.

Once I got home I was all hyped and dismantled three turkey oak logs with my XS, one of which was over 20" in diameter of knotty crotch.

I also split most of it the same evening.

I'll noodle the knotty rounds

Yesterday, Saturday in the PM after work I got started on my uncles firewood log pile, oak, semi dirty.
I started with my PS-7300 and PS-7310 wearing Oregon LGX chains, once they touched dirt embedded in the bark they literally stopped self feeding.
I went home and grabbed my PS-6400 with TriLink chisel chain and ran two whole tanks of fuel through her touching up the chain during refuelling.
I think I got about half the pile bucked to 10" length.

Today, I gave our pup Heidi a bath.

My dad fearing heavy rain got some hay in.
I took the opportunity of the tractor running and pulled two logs off my firewood log pile.
I intend to dismantle them and hopefully a couple others this week.

Nice Wilhelm. Can you provide a photo of your semi chisel cutter after filing please? Just curious to see how you file it.
I had to lower my rakers 1 swipe at a time between test cuts until I got it to cut the way I wanted it to in red oak.

I find semi-chisel to be slow and more power consuming than full-chisel , but it certainly has its place on the market.
Round filed full chisel does the trick for me in oak.

I have a new Stihl RM on my PS-550, I'll make a "out of the box factory grind" performance video and take pictures of the cutters.
I will try to remember to take pictures when the time for filing it comes.
Don't hold Your breath for this one though, I am overwhelmed with work and obligations.

I have a dull semi-chisel TriLink loop that I need to sharpen, I will take pictures of that one for You.

I file all my chains with Archer FastFiler jigs!
I even found a way to play with angles and file height position as the stock one is a little too aggressive and dulls faster for hard hardwoods - it's great for soft hardwoods though.
I soon may even have a FastFiler jig converted to suit .404" chain.

So much to do, so little time, even less remaining strength.

I hear you Wilhelm. No hurry. Just more curious than anything.
This was a quick hand file I did a few weeks back cutting up some dirty roadside wood I came across. This is that Stihl RM safety link green chain I got with the 036 I bought. 18" 3/8.

Got my tomato slicer 346 fired up and carb set for the summer. Gotta cut up a branch I cut off of the apple tree that's in my field so I can mow on Tuesday/Wednesday. Took the chute plug off the mower so I can discharge the next cut. The cut following that I'll be back to mulching.

I needed to build a wheelchair ramp and also need to slope the yard away from my house so I figured I'd kill two birds with one stone, should have it all done with a side walk by the end of the week.
