Looked at trailers at Lowes today. 5.5x9 by Carry On. Nice low deck with a good approach angle. I just don't like the expanded metal floor.

Local trailer dealer has this one, Load Trail 6x10.

I'm probably going with a 6x10 as the 6x8 is only made by Carry On. It's special order only at TSC with a 4-6 week lead time.

Dad is going to look at trailers with me this coming weekend.

Nice! Poor truck is begging for mercy. Lol

That truck was asking for more, it’s got a good spring pack. It was still 2” from the bump stop tangs, I’ve had it loaded more.

I’ve got the 5x8 with the metal mesh floor from tsc. I’m my post above you see I choose to load my ranger instead. It’s been a good trailer but it’s very cheaply made and the cost has gone up. I think I could sell mine now for what I paid for it 4 years ago ($599) and buy something better.

Mark - I ground stumps last Thursday, Vermeer self propelled unit. 3 at the church (average around 30") 1 for a friend from church (roughly 36"), 2 for one of the ladies that works at the local lumberyard/hardware store (36" + for both, I cut the trees down a week ago), and finally a whole slough of small willow stumps in my small town of Dike for an older gentleman that had me sharpen the chain on his borrowed electric saw the day before. All but one was either adjacent to a chain link fence or another tree so it was proceed with caution. He thought this worked better than the electric chainsaw...

Will - I have a 5x8 Taske with a wooden floor, solid 18" sides, and an expanded metal ramp/gate. I replaced the floor boards after 5 or 6 years when dropping large chunks of firewood starter breaking through the original 5/4 floor boards. I replace them with green treated 2x6's that I expect will last a few more years. One bonus on the Taske it you can remove a bolt through the tongue and the whole trailer will tip up as though to dump. I attached a chain to limit the movement so the ramp and the bed form a single plane, helps when I load and unload my mini dozer with the snow blower or hydraulic bucket attached.

I also added another hitch so I can pull my log splitter behind the trailer, not legal in all 50 states but Iowa does allow a "third hitch" and the trailer lights are visible so the log splitter is still legal.

I was using a rented toro 38hp tracked unit.
I put 5 hrs run time on it Friday, it rained all day Saturday so I logged 7+ on it on Sunday.
Ground numerous unknown small stumps on the first stop (probably around 25ish between 6-10") then a couple sassafras, 3 locust, 3 maple, 2 pine, 2 hickory, 2 box alder, 1 ash and a crab apple.
Crab apple was the fastest for sure! Lol
I found lots of debris. An eye bolt in a sassafras, old rolled wire fence in the ash and in one of the box alders, also plenty of rocks and a brick deep in one of the locusts...
Ash was in a newer neighborhood which had to be planted post construction so that was a surprise.

Got an email back from the trailer place and the 77x10 would be around 2600 out the door with tax, registration, etc.. I really need a 6' wide as occasionally I'm picking up mowers with larger decks.

I got yelled at by the mayor of a mid-sized city. Apparently I’m to reopen streets for the weekend when I have a 6’Wx19’Dx40’L trench in a two lane, non-one way street... And I’m responsible for the safety of that thru traffic.

Yeah... No.

Edit: Also, me running 6 quad axle trucks to keep up with a John Deere 470 and bring stone on the back haul apparently is too much truck traffic. It’s going to be really fun when I start on the water and storm portions of this job and I keep two entire trucking companies and my dump trucks busy.

Going to take a look at this today. 6.5x12. 5 foot ramp gate with spring assist. Has a built in spare tire carrier and comes standard with LED lights.

Good Will. Your post said 6.5x12.
I assumed it was 12 ft long.
Is it a new trailer? 2019 leftover?

2019 leftover. It's home now and all registered etc. Already put the mower on it and loading/unloading is so much easier. Tomorrow I'm putting my box, a different jack and a spare tire mount on it. Picked up a spare tire when I bought it. Original post was just a typo.

Nice trailer! I could have used one today. Pickup did the job. Moved all this in under cover this afternoon using my new log arch. Should have got one years ago. Also used a Chinese truck crane to load it in the truck. Did ok. EFC8A172-003E-4C19-9BDC-3521EC086FE7.jpeg4CDEDD80-FE47-4216-8DC8-6A9A47FE9E89.jpeg
