Nice Wilhelm. Can you provide a photo of your semi chisel cutter after filing please? Just curious to see how you file it.
I had to lower my rakers 1 swipe at a time between test cuts until I got it to cut the way I wanted it to in red oak.

Went for a cruise on the struggle bus today. Rear drum breaks on the truck. If it was gonna go wrong it did. Should have stayed in bed lol

Got my pitcher pump installed. It is fed from my rain water collection tank.

Right on!! How are you collecting it??
I have been thinking about utilizing rainwater in a Few ways...
I would like to run some pvc along the sides of my house in which the eavestrough down spouts dump right into them. Have it grade back to the yard and bury a large water tank in there. By the end of snow melt it would be full. I could also have it so that any overfilling could be run underground to the street so I’m not flooding the back yard. you could even have it setup with a UV filter so that you have emergency drinking water to your home.

So many possibilities

I have two downspouts run into a tank that is under my deck. Emergency drinking water was on my mind also, that's why I chose the made in the USA pitcher pump. It is certified lead free, and has a brass cylinder. I just figured we would strain and boil the water if needed or run it through a distiller.

Here's mine. Water is collected off the house and garage roof. 525 gallon tank sunk down in the ground. Has a submersible pump inside the tank. I use a fine landscape fabric with screen under that to filter incoming water. Over flow is plumbed to run out to the pond. If needed for drinking, I can boil and then run it through my gravity filters 20210607_181922.jpg 20210607_182013.jpg

This is my other setup for collecting off the shed roof. 55 gallon drums all linked together. I just use this water for the animals now. 20210607_183940.jpg Used to use it for the garden too but I put a pump in the front pond so that's how I water the garden now if needed

There is a stamping on all plumbing brass that says LF. Some people think it stands for laminar flow lol but it really means lead free. That is another way to tell when you buy plumbing devices that are cast in brass.

I am not an expert but I would say it is drinkable as is as long as it is sealed and all connections/containers have been thoroughly flushed and are potable. Would be interesting to see it’s PH level just for how it would affect the equipment for long term storage.

that is a really cool setup you have there!!!!!
