Showed myself what an idiot I am, again! I have one of those lawn boy mowers that has the wrong coil in it, you turn the switch off to get it to start and on to kill the motor. I turned mine on and pulled the rope many times and flooded the engine. By the time I figured out what I'd done there's no way the engine would start and I was too tired to mow with it anyway. I finally got a sharpie and marked the ON position to OFF and vice versa...

I spent the weekend with my parents. Fixing little stuff around the house. My dad was complaining about his trailer wearing out a set of tires in a year. I helped him with a wheel alignment on it. It turned into repacking the wheel bearings after we found the hubs loose on the axle. Jacked up an airplane to remove a gear leg for repair. Lots done today, even found time to fix the starter rope on my 3120 while we watched "Feild of Dreams". Great weekend.

My 86 year old friend Bill and I cut a big fir for firewood. It was over a bank and a pain to stand on the frozen slope to tip it. I didnt measure the stump but a 28" bar wouldnt go all the way from one side. We used my Rattler 394, 562 and 357.

I cut up two not too big Ash trees that came down in Monday's storm. One split right down the trunk for about 10' and wacked the top off the other one.

Pics later, I just got done doing a real complex tax return (including 4 State returns). I'm shot!

But I did get to play with the saws a bit today. All was going well till I hit a nail in the middle of a round, and it came from about 10' off the ground! Oh well, not the worse that can happen, and luckily I always bring a second saw, so I just kept going.

Got a little over 1/2 cord of wood for my Daughter, but had to wheel barrow it all out, and the darn tire was going flat! Extra work!

I was pleased with my couple of hours of wood cutting today despite a couple of set backs.

My Asian 440 Big Bore was doing great … till I hit a nail! No way to see it, was deep in the round and must have been about 10' off the ground, no idea how it may have got there. The lot has always been vacant and it is about 50 ft from the border where you may expect such things.

Luckily I always bring backup, so my MMWS 462 got the call to finish up the work!

The second problem … I put air in the wheelbarrow tire, thought is was just low due to sitting for the whole winter, but the air did not hold. It is only a small little hill to the road, but if you put too much wood in it your feet were kicking out black dirt instead of you going forward, so I had to take a bunch of smaller loads.

That said, I pulled out a 1/2 cord of nice solid Ash for my Daughter, and there is still more left. It was good to get outside and run the saws and do some work! I need to start getting back in shape.
