I just got some bad news. There were 4 guys in the old neighborhood that were in the same grade in school.

One passed last year, and now there are just two of us left.

Damn, it must mean I'm getting old!!!

I used to have a good friend (he was my age also) who always used to say "You are only alive for a short while, but you will be dead for a long, long time".

He was an incredible pool player, and taught me a lot. He has been gone for several years now also.

I guess you just have to remember what my Dad used to say "Life is for the living"!

I remember my Grandmother who was almost always very upbeat, getting depressed when she was in her late 90s. I asked her what was wrong and she responded "Everyone is gone". She was the kind of person who would drive from NY to FL and visit 6 friends along the way.

Fixed my Haix Texas safety work shoes today, for the second time.
The screws bolted into the steel plate inlay should hold the sole on for a couple more days or hopefully weeks.
Great shoes, my BIL gave them to me.

Took down and dismantled a tree in my yard next to my house, went the safe way and gave it direction pulling it with my tractor.

Played a little and cuddled a lot with the pup.

Played with my new toy a little bit today (Ported Asian Big Bore #5). Finished cutting up all my uncut logs. Was a lot of start + stop as I had to dig them out and move rounds, (or half the logs and then move the halves). She ran pretty well, I think she picked up a little.

Went to start it warm w/o the decomp and I was glad to redo it with the decomp. I guess with the squish at 0.17 I should not be surprised.

Only consumed a half a tank by the time I was done, so I'm pleased with the fuel consumption rate. She started easily, idled well and cut well, so I have nothing to complain about!

Finished painting a bedroom, hallway, all the trim at one of my sisters’ places. Been a while since I’ve slicked up sheetrock, cut and rolled some walls...but it killed some time and it’s what she wanted.

I’m ‘bout ready to get back to the C-17 song and dance!
