Old Homelite project 🤔

Spent quite a bit of time chipping , scraping and wire-wheeling on this muffler. I'm convinced that for the last few tankfulls that this saw ran , it was running on a motor oil mix .
I gave it 3 coats of VHT 2000° ceramic black out of a rattle can I had leftover from a previous project. It should last a while .

Thanks ,I had forgotten that I just called him "Wolfy " If I recall he was a tool and die maker .Myself just a self trained hack about machining . However I could do the same as a toolmaker it just took me about four times the amount of time to do it . It became really fun coming up with methods dating back 300 years ago like using brown sugar to case harden mild steel .
