I'm not looking for super special info that is highly guarded on CRF....

I've looked at using the 046 piston, but didn't see enough of an advantage over the new Dolmar piston to make it worth the effort.

046 is what I've used. I'm going to try a 281 piston as well. The 181 thin ring is way too long on the skirts.

If I could try any piston. The 372BB piston might be what I'd look to.

I like idea of the full skirt and ring end location.

I had a race 372 with 038 mag piston before the wiseco's were made.

I replaced piston on left 52mm with bb372.

What I find interesting on the 7900 is the shape of the crankcase at the transfer opening where it meets the cylinder. That looks like some "black magic" to me, and could be a detrimental to the how the saw performs.

They're a different built saw for sure. They sure do run good though.
