Not sure, never heard it without the holes. The dealer made it that way before I bought it. It changed when I gutted the muffler and added a second port.;)

Saw noise isn't something I worry much about. I always wear ear pro when I'm running one anyway. To me the lower operating temp and added power are worth a little extra noise.
I have a pic somewhere of a 7900 gasket fitting inside a ported 7910 flange, except the bolt holes

The hd filter setup is what kills the power on those saws. Try the low filter. My stock 7301 with low filter I tune at or a little past the limiter. It is ahead of a stock 572 or 462.
I was just gonna ask you how your heated handle EA7301PR is running. Still completely stock right?
PS-7310/EA7300 FTW :D

To the OP, ditch the HD AF, utilize the FINE nylon AF cartridge, gut the muffler and open up the stock outlet- You'll have a beast!

My factory stock PS-7310 was a dog with the SLR, she felt weak and grunt less.
I removed the SLR, opened the factory stock outlet and retuned the carb - now she is my 36" fun go to saw.
Other than MM she is a fully stock saw, enough said!

Seems like its calling for a porting job hehe.
Exhaust gases regulations have probably changed by then, and now pretty much every saw must have a very restrictive muffler, (maybe even catalytic inside) due to regulations so it scavenges as much as possible and doesnt "pollute"

EA7900/7910 has to be the most restricted stock saw I’ve seen. I feel like it’s because of the new EPA restrictions. They’ve been castrating revs and power on most, if not all, new saws. We basically have to gut the mufflers to get some power out of em.
Here’s an unrestricted one.

A non-cat muffler part # 038 174 200 - port matched to the exhaust shield is an easy and clean looking upgrade to your saw. The coil in my opinion is not a problem, just a little harder to tune. I have it easy and bury the high screw tight on a lot of my saws ( I cut at 7700-11,000 feet elevation. It was a struggle to get the 7910 lean enough at this altitude. A Walbro HD-12b carburetor from 372xp helped wake it up too.

One saw I have never been fortunate enough to run is a Dolmar. What is the oiler modification? Do they make a higher volume pump upgrade like Stihl? I did that with my work 461

You can get a pump rebuild kit for under $20 that includes a standard and high output control bolt along with springs and O-rings

Love too. Unfortunately not too many were around. Some rentals and some private owners but no dealers, ever really came.

Hmmm…maybe squeeze in a trip to see you ‘n @chiselbit ‘n @Woodslasher

@Bob95065 is up there somewhere too.
Hmm, now you've got me thinking. With enough notice I could possibly get another dude or two to show up with a few big cube/play saws, if I'm really lucky I could possibly get John Rupley to bring a few of his competition saws by as well. What general time frame are you taking this hypothetical trip in?
