The difference could be where the weight is taken from also. The more weight taken from the outer end of the bar, the lighter it will feel on the saw obviously
Agreed. Where the weight is distributed makes a noticeable difference in handling to me though. Although stihl laminate bars are slightly lighter than the ES Light bars are, I don’t like the way the laminates make the saw feel. I think the little bit of extra weight right at the bar tip helps the saw flip around better and balance better overall. I think it has to do with COG more than weight. Completely personal preference though.

Well, at about 3:00 today I got caught up!!! First time in about 2 months - felt good not to have Tax Returns in the "to do" pile!

So the weather was nice and I put my new spike on the 462 - it is sweet - thank you Mark!!!

Caution: Saw picture may include a muffler mod not approved by the Saw Lords!

Also, I had to weight the stuff cause I knew Ryan would be very concerned about it. (Less than 2 oz w/bolts and nuts).

I really like how sturdy it was, and that it is vented, and has larger upper + lower spikes, and the fit is perfect. Just does not accommodate a chain catch, but the one that comes on these saws is much sturdier than the 440/460 design ones.

Put a Stihl light bar on it and get real!

With a little muffler mod, the dyno said over 7 Hp! I would do 2 - 1/4" holes on the high right side of the muffler cover. That is how I ran mine before it was ported.

They usually take several tanks to break in. They will gain a good amount of torque when they do.
