Same here.

I just did a 7910 jug on a Solo 681 at 97/125/82.

It's my best runner yet.
Matt's saw was 95-96 126 81. I cut the chamber and lowered the jug a little and slowed it down with 95 126, 86. I raised the intake back up yesterday. Going to try it today. It was 165-170 on compression before and was a little higher after. I forgot to test it hot. I still need an unlimited coil for it. The ones I have are the round body husky coils that won't work.

This 7900 feels very foreign to me,great looking and running saw though.
Morning mike.
They do feel different if you're used to a stihl or husky either one. They're different enough on the handle angles and spacing to not be really like either one. You just have to use one a good bit to figure out how they handle.

I think in the 95-98 range is where they're the fastest. Even with longer bars. The 100-102 does ok but has no wow to it.

That's exactly what I've found too Mike. I can make a 044 really wow at 102........but not these weird bastards. LOL

Yep. I go to 98-100 on all of them now for work saws. Keith's is 98 or 96 and can run full comp on a 28" with an 8 pin no problem. I'm not using the stock piston though. I'm going to port 1 with the stock piston this week and if I have one more piston I'll do another with it to see if there's a difference. The piston swap is weird since there's no machine work involved. Quick piston swap and make a spacer and intake stays at 80. Raise the exhaust and transfers and open that lower to match the Solo cylinders and it's done. Just takes 2 base gaskets.

What piston are you using Mike? I tried the 272 piston. Didn't care for it.

I'm not smart enough to know. :(

Does anyone have a pic of the 681 piston or is it any different than the 7910 slab sided piston?
