I’d like to think it was immense power of the saw.
I thought the wind died down for a moment after but it turns out it was just a pause in the earths rotation as the chains energy was dumped.

For sure. Last year in Iowa there was a bunch of broken chains. Matching the chain to the saw so it can handle it...that particular chain was a little weak for the saw. But it can be fixed.

Start of a new chain. Going to leave a lot of meat on this one...did some tunneling and gullet work. This is older Oregon that had bumper DL’s

Did you cut the top of the cutter flat Cole?

I don’t think I have any before of this one. I cut the tail and the cutter face flat That way when I am going to put the tooth on I have the same thickness left from tooth to tooth and it’s less to file with the double bevel. Or grinder.
