Yep Stihl and Oregon have been factory grinding their round ground chisel with some pretty aggressive side plates for years now.

Here's some pics of some old semi full house race chain done up by the elusive legend Art Martin.
David Smith from FB Chainsaw Repair made a trip out to the west coast and brought back a haul of race bars and chains and saws.

What would be the advantage of this chain over say standard LGX as a race chain?

From what I can see this Art Martin semi skip full house race chain is a standard Oregon LG, which does have an advantage over a AntiVibe LGX.
If you understand the AntiVibe cutter heel "shock absorber" geometry you'll quickly realize for a race chain it doesn't have a firm attack starting a chip in the kerf.
All that rock and rolling when the chain is held tight to file or grind is not very stable either.

Yup...that puts a 3 toothed redneck with a die grinder too shame. Your gonna have a bunch of new 'friends' posting stuff like that.
He already has lots of friends. Lol.

You can do the tail with a angle grinder. Just go slow and mark out where you want to end your cuts. Slot is tougher...but doable. Just gotta drill new holes etc. use a different bar to get your template off of.

MMWS Dolmar PS-6100 and my play chain in some better wood.

Same saw and chain as in the previous video, just a week later in some decent logs.
Beech and oak.

Do you have the EZ start on that 6100?
Yes, the saw is featuring easy start - but I pull it over the regular way because pulling slowly won't always result in the saw starting every pull.
Also, pulling the cord slowly bugs the heck out of me.
I dislike that easy start crap.

Looks like lpx to me, cuts good tho.
Could be, it does have the safety bumper.

I am not much into the art of recognizing the differences of chains - I just want them to self feed and cut straight.
