The fuel settings should be reset if the saw has had an air leak repaired.
So only after a rebuild or something major going wrong is what you are saying. Probably why I've never had to do it as I haven't had an issue with auto tune. Definitely the 572 autotune is very quick at learning and making changes . I would never go back now if I have the choice

I feel like at or mt are band aid fixes on the way to fuel injection, kinda like the cars of the 80s . The struggle to keep the epa happy was difficult for the automakers until they bit the bullet and went total FI.
There's really no comparison between a electron controlled carburetor in a car and FI .
Well said!
For me the biggest selling point on the Mtronic and AT saws are one way to prevent employees from running my saws lean. I can show them all I want from a saw running too lean/rich but in the end some employees just don't care.
i never thought of this, def good insurance to have autotune in that situation

Any time I’m able to eliminate needing to make adjustments or having to fiddle with crud. I believe I’m better off.

Best thing since sliced bread when it works. Always in tune, always starts, great on fuel.

The bad, whole new chain of diagnostic reasoning when it fails. Have spare parts on hand, or be ready to borrow/buy some if anything goes awry.

Personally have found that most major running issues have nothing to do with the MT itself. Minor tuning issues can be the MT. Basically you need to check every regular thing first before one blames the MT.

I don't work on many but own another one, again. It's moronic and I'd like to get another now. I had a few flops early on but those days have past it seems. Currently running a V1 saw with no issues but the new oil leak. It pissed itself like and older Husky does. Makes a mess now so that will get fixed, then it gets mods and ported. One way to find out if that top cylinder fin is really needed ;-)

Let's leave the 80's back there. They had more wires on a carb than fuel injection  back then... sad.
No one knew if it was time to *s-word or get off the pot.
