The only time Husqvarna has used an inboard clutch on a 60cc class was with the 362 XP which is based on the 372xp platform but with a short bar mount.

All other 40, 50, 60 cc classes have had an outboard clutch. The main reason is that these classes are like all-round machines, should be suitable/best in pruning, and the outboard clutch has the advantage of having the bar&chain closer to the center of the saw body.

Those who hate outboard clutches, buy another brand.

PS, Husqvarna has used a plastic worm gear since the 254xp around 1992, and has continued to do so ever since.
Does anyone use a metal oiler drive gear?
I've seen some stripped out from trying to pump too thick bar oil in cold weather, but I've never seen one melted.

Older husky use bronze worn gear (181, 2100, 65 those are what I own that use bronze). Stihl use plastic oiler gear all the way and no one complain about it. Even the inboard clutches didn't cook them up.

From the old days they used bronze gears, in the mid 80s they started with plastic gears on non xp, then plastic gears were used on most non g.
I think the reason bronze gears were used on the g model was that they were mostly intended for cold conditions where the oil could put a heavier load on the gears.

In the early 90's they went more and more to the clutch engaging the oil pump, and then the bronze gears more or less disappeared by themselves.

Today it's almost all plastic gears, but they probably have a slightly different material than what we consider typical plastic. Under extreme conditions they will probably be the weakness, but it's a bit up to us users to use thinner oil during extreme cold....

Truth. Lots of plastic/composite parts on saws these days that are as good or better than the metal ones they replaced.
