I was looking at echotools.com for the rating, where were you looking?

Edit: Me too. Just understood the context is 590 instead of 620.
Yeah, 590 was 3,0kW in all iterations despite the notable increase in torque for gen2

Is there a carb that is same size as 620 carb but much cheaper? Lots of carb for $30ish in ebay. If it was easily fitted to 590 a plus.

If 590 bore and stroke is 45x37 that equates to 58.85cc not 59.8. Maybe they meant 58.9cc

I just did some timed cuts with pump89 and echo gold @ 50 to 1 vs rec fuel90 and red armor @40 to 1. Same tune on both. #1 free revved 13,6 and cut @9500 to 10,5. #2 was 13,5 fr and cut at 9000 to 10,5p. No times as wife was running camera and didn't record first stage. Dang. Well almost even so I guess I will try the 40 to 1 for awhile.

I did get my idle down below 3k. I was surprised at idle speed, I was expecting under 1k and it was at 3600. Now I have a baseline number for any improvements.

@Thesandman perhaps I didn't read back in to the thread far enough or just missed it. Have you done anything to the saw or just messing with oil ratios? I started working on mine last fall after I got it broke in over the summer. The usual MM and then got rid of the base gasket and shaved .007 off the base to get my squish down in the .021"-.022" neighborhood. Had all intentions of porting over the winter but then I bought a 7310p and that has been getting my attention. The 590's are a great saw imo, I love mine, sounds like yours in cutting great as well.

That makes sense. That's even better, a longer stroke.

Hey Brother, saw has mm and carb jet replaced to allow tuning

Thats cool. I've removed the limiter caps, mm, and done a base gasket delete in conjunction with cutting the cylinder base to get my squish down to .021". I just need to time the saw now and figure out where my ports need to be and how to shape them. Unfortunately, it's on the back burner right now as I've got quite a few large home renovations coming up. All of my free time will be consumed with that. Probably be several months before I get back to tinker with any saws :(

@Red97 When your talking about the hole in the bottom of the jet that needs closed are you talking about the one I circled in the pic. I've got a 620P coming next week and if it needs more carb adjustment after porting, I thought I would JB Weld the hole in the jet. I I want to make sure I'm closing the right hole. I also have a HDA155 carb but I'm not sure if that jet will swap out.

I haven't needed to ever close the hole on the few 590s/620s I've done. Is it just to get the max rpm way up for limbing, or high altitude? I will say they tune around .5 to 1.25 turns at my altitude and weather, so I could see the need for certain climates and altitudes. Closing the hole makes them tune around 2 turns around here.

I was using the powerblendX and last week i got the gold.I opened the bottle and i was shocked from the smell. This is the worst smelling oil i've ever tested. It smells like fish, urine, acetone all combined. The powerblendx didn't smell that bad.Is it just me or it actually smells that bad?

I find Echo stuff smells fishy, the oil and rubber parts especially.

I did a muffler mod on my 620 last night the way others have done by cutting behind the tube and also drilling two 5/16 holes on the sides of the tube, then removed the baffle from the hood. I didn't like the way the one corner was open and was a little worried that the exhaust could shoot up and melt my plastics, so I cut out a little plate with a 1" hole and put it under the hood.

Before and after the muffler mod. I already posted the first video in the video thread but put it up again so it's easier to compare the two. Two to three seconds quicker after the muffler mod.
