I'm liking my beater 036. I need to get some skinny starter cord. I put #5 cord on it which fit the pulley nicely and have about 14" of cord to pull.

Here's mine: an 034 AV converted to an 036 with a new top end:

It's a very nice saw, good power for its weight. My 361 might beat it but not by much. Always starts, always runs, never fails, etc. Sometimes I load on an 18" bar just for fun. This saw will beat the pants off a 290.

Mrs Heffalump has an 034 Super. @Chainsaw Jim gave it some gentle massaging.

Before and afters....

Did you guys get a video of it at the gtg? I somehow only took pics instead of tapping the recorder icon.
This after video does it absolutely no justice. It's way too much saw for that short bar and I'd really like to see it cut with a 20" to 24" set up. I know that's what your plans are... I'm just anxious. Lol

Man, I was a complete loser at Bob's and didn't record squat. I barely took any pics! I think I have one pic of Bob's 80 next to my 80/90 and then a couple pics of Jules running your P62.

I'll be aiming to get some video of her 034S and my 044 cutting with the same bar and chain this weekend.

She re-appropriated it away from me as a condition for acquiring my 044.

It's cool...I also got to get a 2051....and to have all my saws ported....

She's a damn fine woman.

IMG_2357.JPG Yes that is the one @drf256 worked over. The throttle is very snappy and it likes to rev. Not sure how much the lighter weight rod helps, but I would think there should be some benefit.

The 036Pro has been advanced and a deflector was added. It's no pooch, but there's a big difference between the two saws.

I never had an 036 at the same time as the stock 034. The 034 stock was decent, but it came with .325 18" so it felt like it had good power.

I see it has a muffler mod.

It had the older style af. I like the metal oem airfilter to let it breath, but some say it lets a lot of fines in. I usually cut green wood though.

Check to see if the linkage letting the choke close all of the way. Two of mine had to have the linkage bar bent a little to do so.

Yeah theres something funny with the control lever. It does not feel very positive when you push it down into choked.

I'm curious as to a quick and dirty fix, since I probably won't strip and tidy this one for quite a while (have other projects in pipeline), but I still may use this for doing firewood this winter.

I may PM you a couple of close up piccies in the future of the actual setup and see if you can point out the right things to adjust/bend etc.
