Does the cylinder have a gasket between its bottom and crankcase?

Can you check squish?

You'll want to open up that muffler a bit to let it breathe better. I drilled 3/4" holes on each side like this:

Be sure to remove any shavings or filings before installing to prevent cylinder damage.

Looking forward to a cut report from Frankie after you get it back together

I’m fairly new to chainsaws so I have to ask… what is a Franken saw? I know that “Dr. Richard Cranium” said he thought this chainsaw was a Franken saw or 024 Super jug. He asked for some additional pics though to be sure. I’m hoping he gets to see the pics I posted after his request for them to give him more information to go on. So what you think Powerstroke Cowboy? Ps… I like the name….I have an 06 F250 with the old 6.0 bulletproofed I love that truck.

I believe drf256 is going to have the best idea of what you have. As said, a Franken saw is made up of different runs, or models. Kind of like Johhny cashes song. I got it one piece at a time.

Thanks, this is the name I have used for about 12 years on forums.

If you get everything right those 6.0 are a good running engine. I have a 97 7.3 and 08 6.4.

Does anyone happen to know what these letters stamped onto the muffler mean?

Also, just out of curiosity… do the numbers and or letters here mean anything specifically? Sorry for all the questions. Just trying to learn as I’m going since so many of you guys are so knowledgeable.

someone on here can either sell me the correct parts that I need to complete the saw or point me in the right direction as to where I can find them. I would like to purchase original parts and not Amazon aftermarket parts. Thank you in advance for your time and replies. -Steve.
Check the forum sponsor https://hlsproparts.com for aftermarket parts.
