before/after carb and maxflo
Wow. Huge difference there! You bolted a echo 2511T to the mofo saw with those simple changes..... lol. I’m sure a lot of it was the carb, but it puts into perspective how bad the stock air filter setup is on those saws as well.

Nice gain.

Tuned to 14k before? What about the after? For the carb and maxflow mod.

Was over 14k before, just about 14k after.

I really appreciate all the extra work Joe. Al @drf256 is a wizard

No problem, looks like a maxflo could be a nice improvement.

Pretty much.

Be cool to see a diesel chainsaw on the dyno. Torque would be higher than the HP on the graph.
All engines make more torque than hp under 5250 rpm, really measuring torque, and the hp formula is based on torque at rpm, same torque more rpm=more hp, the lines cross at 5250, at 5250 all engines make the same torque as hp

Hate to say this, but with that MOFO saw, I would really like to know how much is the carb and how much is the filter. Was the original filter clean before testing? That can make a huge difference.

I'm also thinking the carb membranes may have hardened and it needed a rebuilt.

Just thinking aloud here, it was an amazing difference!

2149 j red vs 501p echo

2149 has had machine work, and a 357 carb and elbow. Stock muffler and no port work.
I haven’t read the rest of the thread yet, but that is actually now a 2153, or 346ne. Brand new, two or three cuts on it

Muffler mod and gasket delete 394 vs stock 395
Very interesting! I know 394's squish is pretty big and the reason the bgd helps it, what is the general consensus w/ the 95's? I felt the bgd and muff mod really woke up mine, wonder if it would sway that 95 graph a bunch?

That 501p stock isn't real exciting is it. Glad I went with the 261 cm. The 501p was very tempting.

Stock 490 v Stock 501p plot would be cool.
My 490 and my buddy’s were absolute pigs before muffler work and removing carb limiters. Huge difference.

Something definitely wrong with 501’s settings. It’s torque peaks at 6,5-7k and normally there isn’t sign of that dip, which looks rather typical for mis-set L/H mixture changeover. Box carb settings?
