The 562 I had has left a bad taste in my mouth,I'll not have another one.

It needs upgraded and that cost more than I paid for it.

I like the red and black version better. Jmo. I understand many have had issues with them and don't blame them for not trying another 1, but surely husqvarna has corrected the issues on them by now, least I hope so, they are the flagship saw in their line up, atleast for most firewood cutters.

Well, the 036 is one of the best saws that Stihl ever made. If you want the same power with higher revs and a tad less torque (but the same rated HP) get a used Stihl 361. Way better AV. If you want a 70cc+ saw power but the 60cc weight, get a 60cc saw and have one of the guys here port it, like Tree Monkey or Mastermind. I would lean toward one of the pre EPA saws for that, either a good used Stihl 361 or a Husky 262xp. Best 60cc saws ever made by either of them. Or get that 036 ported and it will scream.

If you want to jump to the 70cc range, I would get a Stihl 440 or 461, or an earlier model Husky 372xp/372xpw (non-xTorq). You will not look back with any of these saws. Port them, and they will get respect from anyone and any tree.

I hate some have had a bad experience with a 562, a good one is about as good as it gets. got mine in 2012 one of the original ones with the carb everyone says has problems, it's been an amazing work horse with a 24" bar. I'm surprised it's still running as good as it does with the amount of time its had on it. The 5 series for me have been some of them most durable saws I've ran in my tree service... and even with the unimaginable oil mix of 50:1 lol and I don't blame anyone who's had a bad experience with one for not liking them.

Just bought 2 more 60cc class saws. Both poulan brand 60cc and 65cc. :D

Also found 2 sets of NOS NLA 380 cylinders and piston kits too. :b1:
Hate paying retail at dealers, but when NLA you better grab it while you can. ;)

I didnt pull a stopwatch, but looked like 14 seconds for the 6100 and 15 seconds for the 262xp. Not a bad showing for a 30 year old saw. Question is, is that 6100 ported to, or running stock? If it's stock- that's impressive as hell to beat a ported 262.

The 6100 is ported.
It's the only one I've done but they have to be one of or the strongest 60cc out there.
Takes longer to mod the muffler than to port it.

The 262 was and is a force to be reckoned with. I love the snarl and throttle response. It's also very light and handles well. For a lot of bucking though, I'll take my 562 that hasn't been to @awol. Yet...

They are in the running for the strongest 60cc saw for sure, couple that with no auto carb and incredible filtration- we have a winner..

A 6100 or at least this one was a pooch stock, very high compression stock also.
195lb.
It's actually a little less than that after porting. Exhaust got raised a lot.

I must say the 555 AT husky I've got runs well, spools up fast and starts easy. With a small mount 15" Windsor ST ran its a small fast capable saw. Kinda glad I got one instead of a 562xp. Mine is 2012 & has never been apart due to a failure but its low hours at around 50.
