Well you could say a strato 372 oe is a 575 or 572xp, because really the 575 came out to be a strato replacement back in 2004, but that saw platform never made it. The 372 and 390 are proven platforms, so in my mind, if Husqvarna does indeed need to keep the reliability of the 390 and it's reputation, then strato it to continue to be in align with our lovely EPA
I wouldnt say a 372xt and a 575 have any similarities whatsoever...

I will wait for the teething issues to get resolved. Every new saw has them. I been burned by both Stihl when I tried the new at the time ms441, and a 661c. Then burned by Husqvarna with 2 562xp's when they were plagued with bogging and hot start issues..
If I didn't rely on saws for food, I would pull the trigger and take a chance.

I agree with you I think the 592 and the 585 are definitely going to be some sort of winners. Hopefully we only have to wait another month or less. I can’t wait to get my hands on him and try them out. But I got a wait for a broken finger to heal

I’d encourage you not to jump to conclusions until you’ve run one. I’ll be honest my preference is still 661 for my own personal reasons. Best of luck with the finger…

Well I tend to agree, the 661 has proven itself now, what 4 or 5 years later? They seem very reliable now from what I have observed.

Yep it’s a proven saw at this point. Don’t get me wrong I liked what I saw of the 592/585… I actually liked that 585 more than I thought I would. But my preference has always just run towards the 661 since they got the bugs worked out. That’s just me and we are really fortunate to have such diverse choices. Heck I’d push it a step further and say in 28” wood I’d rather run my xs7910 than either the 592/661.

Exactly, so you can't say a 585 replaced the 390........yet lol
I would say that thats a more reasonable statement tho. 585/592 IS the replacement, ie, the new offering for that size saw. When the 575 came out i think it was mostly a way for husky to show off their new patent they purchased/leased, was never designed or intended to be a direct replacement for the 372, IMO anyway. Plus the 372 xt was available new for almost 15 years after the 575 came out.

I’m not gonna make an argument out of the stilh does make a good saw
I have a 660. Good running saw stihl must have change the formula in the bar oil several years ago The regular oil does not like the oil on my 36 inch bar very well. My 460 very good one and saw yes it’s an old saw but very good running nothing but carburetor problems that have developed one day it runs good adjust the carburetor runs good leave it sit two days come back runs like *s-word will not run. Two saws I have no problems with 026 and 260
The one was my first Saul I ever owned. I wound up buying a husky from Bob. And I like the way it ran I liked how it worked before you know it I wound up purchasing a 572 to replace my 460. I like the way it again it runs. That’s why I’m looking forward to the 585 and the 592. And yes I will agree with you I believe the 585 is a replacement for a 390 just like I also see the 592 someone replace in a 395 but that’s:ambulance: a big set of shoes to replace maybe

Another scripted commercial from people reading from a teleprompter. Guy has been running the saw for over a year hete in the USA, but yet it'snot available until early 2022. He isn't going to say anything bad about it seeing he probably git to use it for free for a year. It looks like a nice package don't get me wrong, I just don't care for infomercial ads like this.

Agree 100% and i may have ran the saw you're talking about albeit for only 2 tanks before it went to indiana..

Or maybe it was a different one, but i kinda doubt it..

A even heavier strato piston on the 390xp bottom end that was originally designed for the smaller bore 385xp… does not sound like a good recipe for reliability.
