Rapeseed or canola oil is pefect for lubrication, just dont use it for cooking, there are much better options.
Sounds like those who are negative have not tried it in their chainsaws.
100% or your bar oil flings off no matter what oil you use, but it will transport heat away.

I've used the Motion Lotion (not biodegradeable) in the past with good results, until shipping made it too expensive. Today I buy the Husky oil by the case of gallons.
I don't know, not an expert, but cooking oil has very little it the way of lubrication properties, and it saves my canola oil for deep frying turkeys... Horses for courses.
But, I often wondered how canola would work for mix oil?

If you stop at any junkyard or crusher here
You can get 50 gallon drums
Of waste fluids from
Vehicles usually free they are happy to get rid of them.
Just add heavier oils
To change viscosity if needed.

I think you are directing your sarcasm at the wrong person. I started asking questions about bars since people were talking about the 592xp OEM bar. Maybe you can troll AS?
And then you started discussing bar oil types, which is not 592 specific info.

I know you are but what am I? Oh wait...

I for one am not very likely to pick up a 592 (though I dearly want one) or even a 572 (too much investment for what little use I’d have for them) but I can almost guarantee-damn-tee I’ll end up with one (or more) of the new bars... it’ll look awful purty on my new 562 or the clone 372 I’ll probably pick up down the road.
