I crack up when the guys on the forum say "homeowner" like they are somehow above that..

2 - you don't kill trees for a living.

Our house is under never ending renovations, so pretty much a barn right now. I might not fell as many trees as a professional, but I have put a lot more fuel through my saws than many non professionals. Most folk that heat with firewood should be viewed a bit differently than the homeowner that starts a chainsaw once or twice a year.

Most folk that heat with firewood should be viewed a bit differently than the homeowner that starts a chainsaw once or twice a year.

People that cut *s-wordt tons of firewood actually use a chainsaw more than tree service guys.

I have days I make 15 cuts with a chainsaw.

But I raked for 2 hours..chipped for an hour...ground a stump out ... and so on..

yeh. On that athel pine demo deal I did I was bummed to not even use a tank of gas a day. Doesn't take much gas to fell and top 3 trees. But tons of dragging chain and cable, climbing around, dragging tops away...clearing already down stuff for access...
