Next problem...the heated flywheel grenaded....pieces of magnet all over inside saw.
could there be several type G flywheel to 372?
Never seen a grenaded G flywheel on any of my G saws, almost think there is different generator flywheel versions to 372 now

I wouldn't think that fuel mixing with the bar oil would turn the oil milky like that, just thin it down. In my experience, milky oil is usually an indicator of water contamination. And more importantly, it's usually in oil that is agitated by a pump of some sort that gets milky with water contamination... But where did the water come from in the first place?????

If it happens again, I would dump the milky oil into a clear glass and let it settle. That will confirm whether or not it is in fact water contamination. Only trouble is that it would likely take a few days for it to settle out from a milky state. And being that it is a customer saw you probably don't have days to waste.

I read somewhere there is a fuel cap that is vented for a husky to get rid of the dreaded bog they sometimes have ,not sure the part # ,I think it is a fairly common thing .
I have seen that too: not sure where to get the new cap, but I do know what the fix is.

you have some choices to do, but I would never done a cheap magneto modd on an 750$ saw.
I dont say you should buy a new flywheel, prices on them are ridicilous.

I said I've never seen a fragmented G flywheel, but I've seen one when I thought through those projects I had, 357xpg.
Reason was crank bearing movement, worn out bearings, it seems there is very little tolerance from generator screws to flywheel, wouldnt surprise me if that issue count for all those 3xx a saws.

What year is your crankcase&crank?
And what number do your flywheel has?

It seems the flywheel was upgraded over the years but in general all those 362&265&372's share same flywheel
Also the 385 and 390 use the same Flywheel and all of the equivocal J-Reds.
There looks like there where three different Flywheels over the period of time.

I think you are spot on.
I've seen two different 362/372 flywheel from 99 to 05, but I can't remember who was who :) one of them had different cooling fins, it may have been 372 00.

The part I don't understand is. Looking at the IPL's they show a different Flywheel option depending on if they have the carb heaters or not.
Which make no sense to me, as the Generators are all the same.

good point, is those two type generator same dimensions?
I thought maybe there could be different off set on those 3 type flywheel....that could at least for me make an fragmented flywheel
