It does not appear to be having trouble. ..but...the idle does drop when I turn the saw vertically. ...dunno if that's a case leak or not. ...if the case is leaking I'm going to be really unhappy

It's getting pressure from somewhere

my pressure test was good, vac too... how do I test for pressure in the oil tank.....????

pressure test again? this time w/ the oil tank full and without a cap and look for bubbles?

also, assuming the case is leaking at the oil tank joint, what are the odds of my case bolts being loose and being able to simply tighten them and call it a day?

Could very well be a loose bolt there. Wouldn't hurt to check them. You could just run it with the cap off.

of interest, there is no oil leaking on the ground... zero. so at least the leak isn't towards the bottom of the case. the saw sat for a couple weeks on the shed floor, no leak. so i'm looking for a leak higher up, between the lower and upper case bolts towards the oil tank.

ok, just tried a simple thing, I brought the piston to bdc (more or less) and applied pressure to the impulse line... no bubbles that are dramatic in the oil tank.... gonna pop the flywheel and check the bolts

still don't know why the idle changes (goes lower) when I turn the thing vertically ... horizontal is not an issue

Coffee with milk color.....not clear bar oil
That is very weird!
Have you tried mixing a small amount of bar oil and fuel mix?
If it looks like that I would split the case. No need to burn up another cylinder...
That looks like a substantial amount of mixing... What does the tree guy that ran it use for oil?

could be vent issue for the tip bog... who knows... if thats the case i'm not worried

water could be an issue with the color of the oil... i'll put some mix in there, then fresh oil and see what happens

I put some pressure in the impulse line, zero bubbles in the oil tank... case bolts are tight, zero movement.

I read somewhere there is a fuel cap that is vented for a husky to get rid of the dreaded bog they sometimes have ,not sure the part # ,I think it is a fairly common thing .

I think if it was gas, it would need to be a lot to change color like that, you could smell it like when fuel gets in engine oil.

I had an 064 that would go lean, it had a pinhole into the oil tank. Was fine until the oil got used to that level. Have you tried putting the sealed saw into a bucket of water to look for leaks?

No...haven't done the bucket trick.

At this point the water in the oil is the best explaination. The pressure test I did before and the pressure in the impulse line with water in the oil tank should have revealed the problem if there was one.

After 1 tank the compression is up...the plug is rich looking.... definitely not lean.

Well...it's not running lean...it cuts well..

Next problem...the heated flywheel grenaded....pieces of magnet all over inside saw.

Please tell me another heated flywheel is cheap
