Yup, the 592 is has good power for the weight. The 395 has more big bar power though.

Not to run this thread off the rails, but do you think
the reason 395 has more long bar capability is transfer tunnel length, case capacity or both?

Now I would be interested in seeing this 57mm 390 run against a 592. @Jake Dykstra , you need more saws!

I'd say it's the probably the stroke. But adding 2mm more to the stroke of a 395 makes them a monster!

Also the transfer tunnels of the 395 are fairly short for the stroke length and being as straight to the corner as they are.

Yea they give up some grunt for long bars 42 and over but the anything under that the user friendliness and comfort of a 592 makes up up for the lacking torque.
Shaun you seem to forget not all 395’s run like yours…. lol

We all like saw videos. I’d be interested to see it cut just by itself as well. The shootouts are cool, but I can’t hear as well and that’s how I gauge speed and power. A tach would also be interesting in the cut.

395 is interesting because it’s the same displacement but 38x56 instead of 37x57 (more over square than most saws, very similar to 500i) and has side fed quads instead of bottom. It’s also a lot heavier and bulkier, plus the inside tensioner and outboard clutch. If a 390 can out cut a 395, that’s pretty cool.
Here's the tach video. Kinda knotty part of the log so a little sporadic. Sorry it's a little shaky. Had to tuck my phone in my bino buddy as a make shift camera holder. Lol

The 3120 is all stock. 8 pin sprocket. I did a video of it vs the 881 so I figured why not do it against the 390BB.

Spent the day dropping trees with the 390bb and it was very nice.
I can't believe how.good.the fuel milage is.
Seemed like.i was felling and bucking twice as long as normal. It seems like it last longer than the 372. Yeah tanks bigger but it's 24cc's bigger.
