BTW- very nice thread!! I am awaiting the final product...I just luv the 262!!!I think next one I'm going to have to do is the 42/242.
Thanks I really enjoy doing these threads. I’m quietly hunting for a 242 myself, need to fill a gap in my 2-series line up:)

Same here @drf256 if I can assist in Parts for that build I’d be glad to.

Got my parts gents! Should have this 262 breathing fire tonight!
Ya buddy cant wait! A storm is coming so I ran out and just got finished with about a tank through Joe's 262! Carnage pics as promised! Down to little stuff so I had to noodle a few bigger rounds! Hey Joe I'm really liking this one![emoji6]

Looks like a good time Dan! Joe’s gonna be drooling when he sees these pics. Mine is finally starting to look like a saw...

Now it’s time for a muffler mod, what to do...

I know! Hawg it out! should breath nicely.

Next and most important step is cleaning the muffler out. Don’t want them metal shavings eating my new piston. I pump solvent through it for about 10 minutes with the magnet in it to grab the shavings. Then scrub it out, finally blow it out with compressed air. After it dries, I run the magnet though it again and give it a close look with a strong flashlight. If there’s any shiny spots I keep cleaning til it’s all gone.

Final parts were handle bar, top covers, bar n chain and clutch cover. Starts fast, idles stable and feels really snappy for a stock saw. Joe is coming down in the morning to help me get a video of it cutting. Think I’m gonna have to get another Tsumura solid bar, thieved this 20” off my 357 and I like it on the 262.

WAHOO 262!
