To the OP, you don't need a 100cc saw to run longer Bar's. You just need to find good porters (which there is plenty around here). Here is my hacked up 385 running a 32" 3/8.

And my Rattler'd 288 running the same bar and chain!

These saws aren't even broke in yet. They both have under 10 tanks through them at the time.

In case anybody was wondering, this is my Favorite Saw Class.

What's the Consensus on a Husky 285?

Strong saws, easy to work on, can pull a 28" quite handily. It won't "get there" in a big hurry, but it will keep on chugging along, all day, every day.

Also they don't have the manual oiler as the 2100/2101. Alot of guys put the 2100 jug on the 285 to create some what of a hybrid.

Neither does the 1100CD........and it should. The 285CD's adjustable oiler is more than sufficient for a 28". Heck it would be enough for a 32".

I do own all four but the 603 is NOS and never seen gas. It will stay that way.
The 999 i have is the Olympyk 999F @ 103cc's but i have never run it in wood
yet. My Husky 2100 is about the strongest 100cc saw i have. Next would be the
Poulan 655BP but for torque the Sachs Dolmar 153 has some grunt.
Thanks for mentioning me Jon. I'm having problems with my fuel line for my 603. I'm going to contact you after the holiday @Lee H . Maybe you can help me.

That saw is a sweet one, Randy. I remember when you found it listed near you. Much nicer than those saws I went to look at in N. Sacramento........what a tool that guy was.
