Got rid of this giant. Had the crane measure and it was 108ft to the top. Base was over 8ft and it was 7ft around for at least the first 35 feet. For my location in central Nebraska this thing was unbelievablely huge. First time I’ve come across something a 75ft bucket truck couldn’t handle. Removed 3 other trees at the same time to allow acces to the big one. All of them were pushing up foundations on the houses near them.

Heck of a job both of you guy's! Those are some massive tree's and it sure looks like your setup with the equipment to do it.

Probably shouldn't have been in this one! It's a 100' tall dead ash. It was right against my friends camp. The two lowest branches needed to come off before it could be dropped or the two branches would've hit the next camp.

Here's a couple of pictures.

I am roughly up about 50' or so.

part0(1).jpg

Crossing my fingers in hopes that the tree wouldn't come crashing down. Due to that neither branches could be free dropped. Both had to be rigged out and this branch that Iam about to attempt is a big heavy and long mofo!
part0(7).jpg

Last one it's on the ground. There was 46' of solid log before it split out from hitting the ground. It's gonna make some nice boards!

I wanted to pull it more in the direction of the big tree in the small opening to the left but I opted to pull it more to the right to keep to away from the second cabin because we had some oak tops that it had to go through.
My luck if I would've had it tied off and pulling at the angle that I did the oak tops probably would've had just enough spring to roll it into the other cabin! Oh well it all worked out in the end. We used a skid steer and a double snatch block to pull it where we wanted to.
