It’s a HEMTT which is similar to the LVS but does not articulate to steer. It uses the same engine and drivetrain but all 4 front tires steer instead of bending in the middle.

That's awesome! I couldn't think of what the name for the non-articulated was called but you cleared that up. I use to work on the LVS's when I was in the Marines. Those are some wicked vehicles, with 900hp engines. Fun to drive but don't go fast in rough terrain, it beats you up for sure!

Took down this monster cottonwood last week. It was 105’ tall and 5ft+ at the ground. The flared part where the stems began is 10-12ft wide which is also the cut in the pictures. It weighed about 13,000lbs. There were 2 cuts below the flair that weighed around 3500 each. My wife’s out of work from the corona virus so she ran the crane I did the cutting.

You would be like wtf if I show pics of my secret pile. Three acres half full three stories high. It took an hour to get good pics of what I want. The bottom logs are three years old and showed me all he magic this past six months. His machine only processes up to twenty inch logs :)

It’s a Versalift super arborist 53’. It belongs to my friend who’s also in the tree business we own the crane in the pictures as a 50/50 partnership. I’ve ran it quite a bit very solid unit. Not as tall as some but almost 0 sensors or electronic solenoids to shut you down. It’s 36” wide so it can do backyard gates very well and it’s dielectric insulated on both booms. That’s huge for us as we do a lot of power line contracts together. It has an upper tool circuit and joystick controls just like a bucket truck flys very smooth and fast.069A2323-C047-4D6E-B026-060D825EF504.jpeg7036F83D-D6F2-4B4D-939C-18449180E0D9.jpeg

Hell of a setup.

Thanks Randy it’s old iron by most standards but big hydraulics make things so much easier. The 2100xp with finger ports you did for me saw a lot of action on this job. Still makes me grin every time. I need to get my 3120 an appointment with you one of these days.

Have you been running it pretty regularly for these last 6 years or so?

Very regularly, it lives in my bucket truck and goes out 5-6 days a week. You ported it in 2015 I had a part time tree and firewood business then. I went full time with employees in 2016. It’s been our backbone big saw and now shares that duty with the 3120. I run with a 36” and sometimes a 42” bar. Occasionally it’s ran a 56” it’s impressive regardless of which bar is on it. I’ve put gallons and gallons of fuel through it, literally 100’s and 100’s of tanks. Still starts and idles well if you are man enough to yank the cord it’s 3-4 pulls cold to running. It’s a saw that homeowners regularly ask about because of the exhaust note and speed it holds in the cut. I can’t say enough good things about it. It’s showing 0 signs of slowing down but if it ever takes the trip I’d do everything I could to scrounge NOS or close to new parts for a rebuild. It’s a solid money maker and testament to your excellent workmanship.
