Central Nebraska has been non stop storm damage this year. I’ve been to the lake Pictured 3 times since June and every time we are gone for a week or two they get hit again. It’s 99% big mature cottonwoods along the shoreline and they’ve take a beating this year. Hate to make money like that but it’s good job security.

Just finished this emergency job on two giant hackberries one split down the middle showed up to bid it and she asked about the other which turned out to be completely hollow. The split one just couldn’t keep up with the weight of big lateral branches. The hollow had its roots ground off to make room for sidewalk they told her it would be fine.

Friday-
A big Hickory that had bad lean towards the house off to the right behind where I took the photo from, & also opposite the intended falling direction.

We got her done no damage, & the property owner was happy.

That bull rope was a hero along with those Steel wedges at the end.

Some nice tree jobs on the last two pages! Good work men.

That Uzi rig looks too funny in midget trailer park land.
Heath we trust you be a bad dude in a tree.
Luckydad is getting all the nice milling wood.
You save any of the fat ones Heath?
Scottyoverkill and Blacksmith, I have some figured and spalted wood ready with more heading to the soon to be dry kiln. I need a draw knife and some other goodies.
I have been getting *s-word trees/weeds/wood and not climbing this summer. Summers over over and I'm going tree trunk hunting after a gin pole gets put in here.

What should it be made of, maybe fresh white oak?
Or, do you guys recommend something better?

Let us know what you want @Scotty Overkill and I were talking about possibly making up some draw knives and fire poker sets over the winter. That is if we're slow on tree cutting.

Fugg yeah! Nice log.
Those be some nasty bastard to limb standing over structure.

Did a dead one some years ago. Had a super huge tree rat condo. Was four feet wide and half that height. All dead filled with worms, bees and the stink, ugg.
