I won’t believe that say rev over 13k.
The manufacturer reduce the max rev for the 90cc saws about 12,5-13 in the past. 13.5 would be really high
661 spec is 13,500 if I remember correctly

Owners manual only gives max power of 9600rpm but states the chain speed at 133% of max power which would be 12768rpm.
I may be able to get a workshop manual. Will find out tomorrow.

So I modified the compression tester adapter so it now has a Schrader valve.

Before, without it's own Schrader it would read 110psi on the 592. Now it reads 130psi, which seems low but it might be legit. I'll have to measure the combustion chamber volume and knowing the trapped volume above the exhaust port I can calculate the ideal compression pressure.
So, originally you had a whole section of hose with no valve? My OTC gauge has the valve in the normal size thread, but a valveless adapter, like what you added the valve to, screws on.

No good. Mine is same way and you will get low readings. If I understand you correctly.

The HF gauge set had around 8" of hose before the valve, another set had short adapters with the valve in the 14mm section on the end of the normal hose.

Yes, the gauge see it all as additional chamber volume.

Workshop manual just states the same as the owners manual.

After messing with the 585 coil I think it’s a very soft touch rev limiter and that is why it messes with the tach so much. I had to wrap a wire around the high lead to get the tach away from interference and I could see it start to get wild at anything over 12k. So it’s probably starting to pull sparks there and making it feel like a 4 stroke at around 12.5-13k but then the tach is going crazy from the wasted energy.

You can hear it increase in rpm a bit more from a stable 12k but the tach jumps around from 7k to 19k readings.

Note: this is with a FastTach. Maybe another brand would have less issues.

All my MTrons act the same way. I can’t do anything about it anyway, but I like to “know things” so I’ve tried to tach them...

The workshop manual lists the Opama PET-302R for the tach. I have one but was getting strange readings off an MS201t mtronic but I didn’t have the wire on it.

Not tried it on any of the autotunes yet.

I wasn't able to get an accurate reading in the cut... unless you want me to post the tach at 19999 which we all know isn't correct.
I know tachs play up when close to Max rpm on rev limited saws. Just showing that it don't matter what max rpm it. Look forward to see what this build is like in the wood.
