The PM55 is coming along.Today I put new bar plates on & a new Oregon D176 bar & chain.I tried using a D076 bar that I got from Woodslasher, but the adjuster pin just wouldn't catch in the hole.It didn't help that I was in a hurry.Hopefully I'll have pics tomorrow.I called Bob today to order the parts I still need for it.

Shipping kills it for me.
Why is everything I like on the wrong side of the country?:risas3:
You'd be surprised. I sent a stihl 036 pro with 20" bar to new York a couple weeks back for 33 bucks and some change. I've been using pirateship.com to get labels because of the discounts!

Do you need a weight first? For pirateship? Do they use ups or USPS or dhl to ship?

Some times the shipping isn't that bad .A few come to mind .The avatar saw came out of Oregon ,the black beauty Mac 125 C came out of northern California and they were around 30 bucks .A cylinder head for a 1940 D4 Caterpillar from Maine was 100 ,about a buck a pound . 18 HP Briggs engine ,south Florida 100 . The last saws I bought were a pair of partner p-100's .They were west coasters and if memory serves around 25-30 bucks .

Yeah they need the usual weight and dimensions of package. They use usps and ups to ship. So far the discounts with ups are way better.

Always gotta be a snafu.I decided to take the recoil off to give a good cleaning under the hood.I got all the screws out except for the one on the back that screws into the bolt holding the coil on.The jackass who torqued that screw in there the way he did should be horsewhipped.I tried breaking the screw loose with a scrench (usually works).I tried hitting it with a hammer to break it loose,& finally I got it loose (or so I thought) with a screwdriver bit that fits in a socket & then goes on the ratchet. It ended up that the bolt came unscrewed out of the coil mount.I had to put a box wrench on the coil bolt & use the screwdriver/ratchet tool to get the screw to break loose. What moron would put a screw in so damn tight? There was so much crud caked onto the recoil that I don't think the PO ever had the recoil off.Tomorrow I'll try to take the flywheel off to clean under it.I already got 2 handfuls of crud out from under the recoil & off the recoil.

I finished up on the PM55 today.I popped the flywheel off & got another handful of crud from under it.The flywheel itself was caked with crud as well.I found a lock plate & bolt for the handle brace on the bottom of the saw & that's taken care of.The only thing left for me to do is wait for the needle adjuster boot/grommet,& at the rate old Bob's going I probably won't see that till next yr.

The next thing on my agenda is to rebuild a RH start recoil.I've already got the spring in & the pulley on.I just need to tension the pulley & put the teardrop plate & retaining ring back in.Also a new handle.
