Merc Man - I have some of these produced via 3D printer. I would be willing to trade one or more if you are interested.

Dream - That saw is a 330 or 340 The SP40/PM510 look like this.

All of the 10-10S models (not 10-10 Super, the Super 10-10 was something different) that I have seen or held were yellow and black. I think McCulloch went for more and more black as days went on due to a combination of environmental concerns (most yellow paints were made with lead chromate) and the difficulty matching the different yellow over time.

The only saws I have seen with the grey and yellow scheme were PM or Pro Mac models like the PM5700 (600 Series saw) PM3200 (Mini Mac) PM4300 (Pro Mac 700) and the PM8200 (last of the 82cc saws).

Yes.
No offense meant, but I was saying I wanted the rear handled version of the Mini Mac. An SP40 is on my bucket list.
I'm not such a fan of the 300 series and later saws, though I realize they are part of the story.
That 8200 looks pretty sweet though.

Makes sense. If the oil tank is black, then the cylinder would be too if it was painted as a unit. Now I'm gonna have to go look...

Here's my PM700. The oil tank is grey but the crankcase / cylinder is not painted. Those models were quite late in McCulloch's existence.

Wasn't there also a Dolmar 110 marketed as a McCulloch PM4300 in Australia only? I seem to recall reading of a few other Dolmars also marketed as Macs in Australia.

That's pretty cool..., I guess.

They obviously figured out early on that P.T. Barnum was right.

Evening gents.
I took the oiler pump apart for the 7-10.
Return spring is broken. Bakelite piston is sloppy where the pintle rod goes through.

Took apart a PM700 pump.
Good spring. Plunger feels better.
The 700 pump has a piece of felt pictured below that sits beside the plunger stop.
The 7-10 pump doesnt have one. Just wondering if it should.
Theres also a small metal plate on the end of the 7-10 pump. Its held on by the locknut on the oil adjustment screw that also holds the lower pump fastener bracket.
There seems to be a spring(and probably a check ball) behind that plate.
Should I go back with the 7-10 pump, or convert to the 700 style? Any experiences with these?

Never seen that felt in any 10 series auto pumps.

I have, but I don't have pictures available (thumb drive now). I would go ahead and replace it with the 700 style.

Maybe in the later ones? I've only had 4 or so pumps out of the electronic ignition saws so a small sample rate. Been in dozens of RHS saws though.
