Very nice job! I had a Super 10-10 air filter cover that was black.
Sure it wasnt an SE chief?
My dad has one with the black filter cover. The front decal was mostly gone. Mark has a minty one. Its a 1010S special edition. Dont know what the difference would be if any.

Definitely not a Special Edition, it was a real old worn black with the tan color showing through. How ever I did put it on a regular 10-10s i bought from the flea market. 20191016_182919.jpg

Just got in the New-to-me chain brake flag for the 7-10.
I made a small error.
I thought I had the rest of the parts here, but what I have is from a 700. They are different.
Would someone be so kind as to help me with part numbers for the brake band, spring, and "latch"?
I'm assuming that is different from the 700 as well.
Here is the 7-10 short clutch cover and brake band, with a pic of the "latch" from a 700 long cover.

I could never figure out McCulloch .The reeders had a good carb, Tillotson model HL .Then the dumb azzes used the flat back for a while .They could not make up their mind which side to put the starter, left or right .

I dug out the original carb from the 7-10A. Its a Tilly.
Ive got a Walbro SDC on it right now. Tilly has a little wear in the throttle shaft.
Always liked those Tillotsons. They seemed to be easy to clean when they gunked up.

The tillotson carb is easy to clean, ( no real check valve ,just a screen)
I'm partial to the sdc walbro, because I feel like it has a better transition from low to high because of the high speed check valve .
All of my XL-12s have tillotson carbs though and they work great.

That is a fine looking group of saws. Now working on your math skills and concentrate on multiplication.

Quite frankly regarding the 81 cc models I think it just makes a difference which muffler they use .They all have plenty of power and about the only thing I've seen is the muffler . You might get a little more performance from the SP 81 by opening the points gap to gain a few degrees of advance or you might not . A little bit, too much it will try to dislocated your shoulder because they will come back hard < voice of experience ,been there .

Id like to replace piston rings on my SP81
I took piston rigs fron worn off one, only temporarily, as different wears suck up the compression. It has decent, but definitely blows past rings.

So, where to find them? What size are they, which saws the fit? What are their usual price and can they be shipped to europe without paying the 5x times cost of the ring for shipping?

Here's a start for you. Not sure if the pistons were marked A, B or C. If the rings are cast iron you may ne able to get some Cabers.

If they are tool steel you will likely be stuck with MAC OEM rings.
