The one to left in post #4 is the last version.

I think Oregon is phasing out 242 clutch drums.
If you have the oil drive with the slots,
the clutch drum you should have is Oregon 40068, Husqvarna's part number is 501.63.66.05.

You can of course go back in time, but I think it's about as hard to find parts then too.
If so, then it's Oregon 29105, you need washer, and the drive was the same one used on 133/234/238/44 and 444, was available in both plastic and bronze.
Hope you had a Merry xmas Tor!

I have the Husqvarna work gear puller. What I don't know is I the worm gear is compatible with the oil pump that is on the saw. Anyone know?
They had three oil pumps, v1, v2, v3, but unfortunately with only one part number.
v1 was non-adjustable, and was used until the middle of the 238 era, mid-1985.
Then came the adjustable, v2, which lasted until 93-94? the worm gear itself was the same as v1.
Then came the last v3, where the spline has taken over for the disc that is between the oil pump and the clutch drum.
v3 has a larger hole for the oil worm gear so that it can be installed without unscrewing the oil pump like you had to on v1 and 42 so that you got to the worm gear.

Could you please post pictures of your problem?

The PO put an incorrect drum on it. The saw won't oil because the drum doesn't engage the gear. I need to find Oregon 40068 that has the ears that engage the slots in the gear
