Customer brought in a Stihl FS 56 to have the starter fixed. Stated that a new rope was installed but couldn't figure out how to tension the spring. Humm, not sure a shoelace is the best thing to use for a starter rope.
I get a lot of paracord
You?

I have a customer that has been arrested, spent jail time, sued a family relative for falling off their roof when they were paying him to paint their roof, comes up with some of the most far fetched stories ever. Told me he cut 4,000 face cord one winter with nothing more than a MS 311, splitting maul and a 2wd 1500 silverado. Yeah... he's going places. Smokes a lot of pot as a hobby. He comes in at least once a week with another conflict in town declaring he is FBI/secret service. Anywhoser, he got arrested lately again (for impersonating a cop; imagine that) and got bailed out by his aunt. Later that day he comes in saying he was untouchable, controls NY state, and then asks "Ever seen a military officer salute a man in handcuffs? I did last night." Guy is wacked out...
I think that might be my cousin? Did he say anything about karate chopping white oak burls in half or having an 099 For sale?

Seen a few different redneck fixes on this av on saws that come in. This is probably one of the better ones.

Now the intake one. smh

Like to know what oil was run on this poor 60cc cylinder I got in. Both sides filled in about 1/4" and ring groove carboned up.

Three year old exmark Quest zero turn, customer brought it in for a no start. Turned it over and it backfired through the carb, this is what I found. When I talked to the owner he said "Well it's still under warranty, that air filter should have held up better than that. " Engine is toast, fowarded these pictures to exmark and as expected they denied the warranty on it. Customer refused to pay for a new engine and picked it up as is. Then he called back and said there was nothing wrong with the engine that it was just a broken rocker arm. :risas3: Whatever you say buddy, if that was the case it should have still started and ran on one cylinder.

While in TN my uncle attached a trailer hitch to the back of his zero turn and connected the trailer.
whoops!! Bent the back of the zero turn real bad....

Next he asked if I could "Fix" the problem... Been a few years since I did any welding (actually over 20 years) but, why not....

Not to shabby for a little angle iron and effort...

The fact that simple maintenance would prevented any damage and the customer could have machine that lasts for years and years.

It does not matter homeowner or commercial guys, few and far between follow any maintenance program.

I saw a zero turn recently, somehow they sheared the front caster assembly clean off the mower deck. :eyepop: The guy wanted it warrantied

An 02 cr250 with a “fresh” piston 4C15D164-9778-43C4-8DEC-AB3D15EB3029.jpeg
I thought it was missing the ring or it eat it, but then
ECA23D70-D9D3-467E-84E4-4A0596EDBFA8.jpeg
The ring somehow cracked but then it also ended up overlapped!?!

And it ruined the plating!!

The other interesting thing with 02, was the powervalve over opened by design, the 04 cylinder I replaced it with kept the powervalve closed into the port an 1/8 of an inch, they were trying to get some torque. I would have liked to test the 02 cylinder with a stopper, I could thread an adjustable stopper and make changes without getting into the cylinder to see what works best, going to have to try it one of these days
