... it just has to get stressful sometimes and they'd been doing it a long time, with probably too little recognition from the rest of us.
A long time ago I have been a Gallery Moderator on a mobile phone forum.
I have been called out by forum members for meticulously doing exactly what I was entrusted to do by the Admins and I grew tiresome of it, left and newer returned.

Other than from the forum Admins I newer really felt appreciated by the forum members for the ample time I gave to the forum.

Unless You have been a forum Moderator, You can't know the downsides of being one!

Randy decided to step down as chief moderator (admin). I think it was actually a good choice for him, now he can be Randy, not have to step into one conflict after another.

I want to thank him for all the years he led this forum.

Where do we go next as a forum?
Shutting down and starting over is pointless.

I think we should continue, and look forward.

The first step should be to persuade @Woodpecker to return to the staff, he is actually a good mod.

Then the new staff together with the owner will find an admin, new admin should be someone who has no business interest here.

I would support @Woodpecker as a mod but I'm not going to ask him to do it, that's to much to ask of a fellow.
And yeah Randy was awesome!!!

They did a great job that's for sure!!! I just think Randy needs a break, woodpecker too. Not because I don't like them it just has to get stressful sometimes and they'd been doing it a long time, with probably too little recognition from the rest of us.
No offense meant but you are awfully new here to be trying to steer the ship. You’re obviously entitled to your opinion. I respect that, but there’s no way you could possibly know the history here. Unless you’re an old member with a new name that is… dot dot dot. For example what’s the significance of the last three words I typed?

I'm new yes. I've tried to stay past history neutral as I just don't know what happened in the past for the most part. Now as to those three little dots it depends on how their used. They could be used to show uncertainty, invite a response, or they can be used in the middle of a quote to show words left out. Probably a whole lot of other uses two. I'll try and cut back on posting a little bit.

Folks Randy is not banned. He chose to step away. He still has the privilege of posting here. However, he will not be invited back into a leadership role here.

I will also not be talked back into a leadership role either. I have agreed to help JJ, Billy, and Sondre any other way I am able. Like this thread here.

There have been an a bushel of new, I’ll say “fan boys” for lack of a better term, chiming in here. This is not meant to be rude, but this isn’t the place for you to comment. You’re too new. You don’t know the history here and quite frankly nobody knows you.

This thread is for core members to decide what they want this place to be. If you don’t have a few years experience on the forum please refrain from commenting. You’re always welcome to read along and obviously participate in all the other areas of the forum.

You’ve made my point for me. No need for you to cut back on posting. Just don’t do it in this thread please.

I haven't been here long, but I have enjoyed the forum. I have bought a thing or two from forum members, and have learned a lot about saws. I would hate to see this place go away, the group knowledge is fantastic.

I've been here almost 8 years but it sure doesn't seem that long.

3. Never use PayPal F&F. If the seller demands that you use F&F, walk away.
If the seller wants F&F and you really want the item multiple the asking price by 1.03 and send that. PayPal takes 3% so you’re protected and the seller gets every penny they’re expecting. A $500 item will cost you $15 more. That’s cheap insurance in my book.

Every private transaction I do online with PayPal is done that way. Never had an issue getting my money back if needed.
