I think you will find yes to your 1st question, but it may take a bit of filing any beaks out of the gullet

I think the answer to your second question is It’s slower than square ground.

you can watch Tim Ard if you feel you need to..for the answers I remembered he said.
Or anyone else can chime in if they have other views/experiences

it’s the cost of a file that keeps me away at the moment.

No live action yet, but the
Pfered triangle chisel bit has 6 cutting sides. It lays nicely under the top plate and in the gullet.
The file took 12 days to arrive via postal mail from AUSTRALIA.

This is a brilliant way for stihl to make more money. Lovely!
Pay more for the performance of round filed chain.


The only difference from round file is you get a straight edge instead of a concave.

I see it as much more foolproof way to sharpen a chain. Much more user friendly to the novice or someone who has trouble sharpening a chain.

The only mistake a person can make is the top plate angle.

If it gives you the benefit of square file but is much simpler to use, I'm all for it.

It has none of the properties of a square filed/ground chain. It doesnt have the cutting angles or chisel corner. It has the same angles as any round filed cutter.
Every demonstration I have watches have had about the same cutting speed as round filed.
No chance I will pay for stihl hoax chain.

SO you haven't tried it. But you are drawing conclusions based on assumptions?

Yes assumptions based on whats clearly there, no magic here, like I tried to explain although putting it in text in a language that is not native to me so not sure I can do any better a second time.
I get it they are trying to make it easier for anyone to get acceptable angles but I doubt anyone here needs that.
Tell me whats new and revolutionary about it without being brand loyal and sounding like a commercial.
I honestly dont understand what people get exited for...
