If the price is good and it's in decent shape buy it. They're easy to work on and parts are everywhere. Picked mine up my latest for $450 at a pawn shop. They said it had no compression. I noticed the decomp was pressed down and made a deal. Stihl runs great...pun intended.

Running I would start at $300 if condition is rough. Non running can be tricky. The PTO side bearing can spin in the case and kill the case sometimes. Lots of variations in the 066 life with the shorter oil tank. Cylinders are a big difference in them.

Buy them all fellas, I do.

It don't matter if it runs or not, there's only a couple things that would be wrong and parts are cheap and everywhere.
These are the best saws that was ever made. May not out cut a 395 but it will far and away outlast it.

I would pay more for a not beat to death, complete, original 066 of any vintage than an MS660, and more yet for a nice red light with working light/coil.
I have all the pieces to build an 066 red light and an arctic MS660 all set aside in some boxes, just gotta be patient :(
