A buddy found this 660 on FB marketplace. Looks suspicious to me. I messaged the guy asking for pics of the serial and some other things. He hasn’t responded back yet, lol.

Price is too high but it looks like a Stihl. Gas cap is a clue...

I agree on the too high part! I was thinking the 660 had flippy caps until I did some more research. Most of my Stihls have them except “0xx” series saws.

It looks like an early 660
$600 would be closer to a realistic price, imo, and that would depend on piston inspection, etc.

I’d probably buy this one from a trusted forum seller, plus it’s ported and ready to go.

Stihl knew they would lose all the big saw business if they didn’t keep the screw caps on the 660’s 😂 definitely looks legit, but if he couldn’t tell for sure himself when he got there in person he needs to pass. For that money I’d put a few dollars with it and get a 500i.

I wouldn’t give half that for it, but I’ve got a 661 and 500. How you been brother?

Nice one! Going good. The kids are keeping us busy with sports and work is wide open. I’m down a guy off with a new baby and we rented a Cat 299 with mulcher head for a month. Trying our best to get our 40 hours a week put on it. It was fun for the first day; but now we swap out at lunch. Neither one of us want to run it more than that each day. Getting old sucks!

My brothers 660 clone has the Stihl on the flywheel side so even tho that is a good indicator it's not a sure thing tho you can tell the stihl lettering/size is a little off but the stihl on the clutch side likes to close to tell. And the flywheel cover is a china cover not a stihl one on a clone saw.

He may have drawn or painted it on there. The AM stuff doesn’t have the raised letters
