I have a M/M late model 660 and I must say they are tough, oil well and its a pretty darn reliable saw that will work day in day out. However this saws dna and platform is three decades old and much has changed in AV and usability in that time, you will notice that will the saw idleing in your hands. Many who have used all models in the 066/660 designations will prefer the cylinder performance of the 066. I will pick up my 681solo or 7900 8/10 times for jobs that require 25" b/c. They drink fuel too the 660 ported or not. But they are a really well built simple 90cc saw that has been a bench mark for many years. I am in no hurry to sell mine, AM parts for these are cheap and readily availible although I have only used OEM. Good tough 90cc saw built for the logging industry.

the Precious will never see fuel in my lifetime :)
I got a hidey hole for 066 parts saws when I need em, one of my customers has a pair of shed/barn structures that he sticks all the dead saws from his decades old tree service in.
I never picked anything yet, but he said he never let anyone else look through them and I could buy/trade for whatever I need.
I have a good buddy keeping him in good running saws while I am healing up, someday I will go get me a big old mess of saws :)
Mostly 1122 and 1128 at least a hundred of them in there :)

A old logger buddy of mine gave me 7 066's last fall, all complete but blew up.
3 flat tops
1 flat top with a decomp
And 2 late 066 bubbles.
I got a bubble 066 and another glorious flat top last Friday, the flat top has perfect plastic with a very nice 066 metal badge.

I have never run one but I plan to take it along to some GTG this year so a few other guys can play with it as well :)
I need to build a locking rack for my flatbed to secure maybe a dozen saws or so :)
Dave
I'll build it in between a short bar and a long bar saw, lots of compression and a medium intake duration with fingers.
Should be a runner.
The wolves are waiting.;)

I missed this completely, a lot of posts of interest this evening.
I have dumb sharp chains in 20" and 16", anything longer than that I am limited to stock chains.
I got a tsumura 20" and a total super 16" to run on them so far and hopefully can steal an afternoon at the grumpy old man to search for a roller nose in 16" :)
