Looks like the center of the jug. Was in the lathe during manufacturing???
They are both 48 mm but with a super cylinder and a 036 muffler it requires a spacer between muffler and cylinder. That is unless you have the 034 muffler or 034s muffler Wich is one with the holes in cover like an 026 muffler Everyone wants the 034s cylinder as they say the timing numbers are better. Are the 034 Super and 036 cylinders internally the same?....EG port layout, combustion chamber shape, etc?

No not really same bore same crank same crankcase. The 034s .Were non compinsator carbs they had tillotsen carbs instead of same in most cases 034s were non decomp cylinders unlike the 036 pro with decompSo internally the 034 Super & the 036 are different ?
There are some differences thats why 034s is so desired. For example a 044 10 mm slant fin from a ks to a major are diff. I have 2 066 non decomp major cylinders one the intake was 1 mm lower. You just never know till you put a timing wheel on them034s and 036 have different intake and exhaust ports.
I believe that was autocorrect for “mahle”Whats this major cylinder you are referring to Brian???
EPAI wonder why Stihl ever changed the design then???
Or 066 to 660 for that matterWhy did they go from the 064 to the MS 660?
