So I found out today that the machinist missed what caused the leak in my head to begin with. I diagnosed it as a head gasket which he very clearly stated he did not think that was it. Said he did a visual inspection but not magnaflux. Well I was checking header bolts this morning and noted a sizable coolant leak Under the same head! Come to find out this is what was missed.....seems pretty visible to the naked eye to me doing visual inspection should have caught that. I paid for the machine work to be done on a USELESS head! Kids and myself went and did a little catfishing with jugs this morning, ended up with 5 between 8-10 pounds in about 3.5 hours. Needed to be making or finishing knives. But also needed a break lol

I am very disappointed to have learned that my favorite beer, Sam Adams Cream Stout, has been discontinued!

I guess dark beers are just not popular, but this one had a unique nutty taste that I liked quite a bit.

I will miss it. Just drinking the regular Sam Adams and the Yuengling Black and Tan now.

Well, I had the Grandsons today (11 + 13), we urethaned a bench, shot bows and arrows, and worked on cutting up a monster Red Oak.

I did not drop it, it is over 5' in diameter at the widest, so I just cut some of the 20+/-" limbs today. I figure no one else is going to bother with the trunk!

The MOFO 460 got the call, and went through it like butter!

how is the wood selection in your area? up here in ohio there seems to be none. the big box stores keep telling me there is a shortage and not due for a delivery till october.
of course thats the way it goes because i just tore down my 3 season room so i could rebuild it with a vaulted ceiling and all new windows. and yea it was a wee bit warm today

Selection sucks at big box stores. Got mine from a smaller local-owned lumber yard. Hopefully they still have some cause I’m gonna need more

I finished bucking my neighbors oak firewood logs.

Dolmar PS-7300 came out to play, she did very well.

The Ozaki Forest bar that I deepened the groove with an angle grinder is usable again, chains DL were bottoming out causing crooked bucking cuts - not anymore.

Logs were dirty, no problem for the half worn FastFiler filed Oregon LGX loop I utilized.
The loop held up fine for two tanks of fuel and allowed me to finish the job without having to grab my Dolmar PS-7310 which tagged along as a backup.

Dropped, bucked and limbed 3 more Red Maples yesterday morning to add to the firewood stash. Was very humid and all the stupid limbing just takes it out of you.

I filed the Oregon LGX loop on my Dolmar PS-7300.
I am in the process of filing a triangle tooth Vanguard loop on my Dolmar PS-6400.
I may choose to file another Vanguard loop on my Dolmar P-S550 which would make all my saws ready for action.

I am utilizing an Archer FastFiler jig.

I filed a total of three chains today, one Oregon LGX and two Vanguard, LGX is noticeably harder than Vanguard.

I also mowed the entire yard.

I waited until it “cooled” down to 84* tonight before I went and got a couple more tops ready to log arch out of that select cut area. Glad I took drink in with me, my sweatband bandanna was so wet it was dripping constantly, had to keep taking it off and wringing it out.

Went for a hike with my Daughter and Grandson's in the morning, then worked on another bench in the afternoon. Ended up putting Oak legs on a half round Hickory Bench, and it is ready for the Spar Urethane. Lots of cuts and chisel work to put half round legs on a half round bench.
