Picked her up for €50 non running with straight fuel in the tank about six months ago. Fitted a new meteor piston and cylinder, base gasket, gasket marker, air filter, fuel filter, intake manifold, manifold clamp, decomp valve and rebuilt the carb. She's running nice now, looking forward to getting her into timber tomorrow.
She still needs a bar nut, a set of felling spikes, chain catcher and one or two top cover bolts.

This is the original piston.

Started in on installing a rear hitch on my little red wagon so I can pull the skid loader trailer with skiddy all in one go.

Mocked up for fitment. So far so good.
IMG_0518.jpeg

Going to put a piece of 3/8”x 3” angle in the inside from side to side to give it a bit more strength. Should hold. Super stoked to get this rig out hauling wood home !!

Nice work, and good deal 👍.
Pretty sure a 572 clutch cover will fit on theree, nice side tensioner and the captured nuts. I like how the grey looks on the jreds, better than on a husky.

Oh yeah. Lots of larger stuff around here. Likely going to live behind “Walter” my 4wd FL70 most of the time …..

It’ll be behind a Deere 7810, 7630 or 7400 with gravel or other stuff heavier than just firewood. Or the IH 1086, 5488, 3788 …… We hauled a few dozen loads of brush like this to break it in moments after I brought it home. I sure like this thing !

Got the boards I picked up the other day turned into a wall, and did a few other small things in the barn. Then the boy and I went and grabbed up enough to do the other 24' of that 12' wall. Also bought the r-19 insulation to insulate the two new walls around my 12x24 shop area. After buying the insulation and lumber I was ready to leave :greedy:.

Nate, What are you doing for compaction of the roadbed?
I'm assuming lower bucket of skidsteer till track fronts are a few inches up and then let machine weight do the work as ya run back and forth?

some years ago. I did an area on my yard, a little bit less area than where you turn/fork uphill to your house. Angle was left to right though, only bout 12in ft pitch though.
Used my Ram-50 4x4 pickup. Couple inches of barely damp red clay per layer and then swapping forward and reverse a buuuncha times till nothing wasn't tire printed a couple passes.

Perfect size keeps the muffler out of the wood but doesn't eat up half the bar length
It is nice in beech and other thin barked wood species.

I like the Star Trek/Klingon style the most.

More insulation this week. Finished with the isopoly on the exterior wall of the shop, now I need to install a few sheets on the 12' wall that separates the shop from my wife's parking spot. The exterior wall now has 3" of iso, that's around 19r, and I'll be building a 2x4 stud wall inside that, then adding another 13r once the wiring is finished.
Starting to feel like a shop.
