This morning laid around and recovered from getting sick last night, food poisoning or something. That sucked. Piddled around the house then out to my shop cleaning and organizing etc. got my 2175 back from @huskihl. It was acting up a while back and I threw in the towel.

Drug out my two 266s. Full wrap 61/266 is going to my son and the other one to one of my welders. Years ago I scored a 2255 for $40 that needed only minor repairs. I gave it to the welder and it got stolen, so this will be the replacement. I like the 266s but prefer 288 power. Someday I’m gonna build a red 272 and have it ported.

I went to my son's basketball game last night.

He's a 6'5 210 lb junior who is a leader on the court and as a quarterback on the football field. Way more of an athlete than his dad ever was. Pink shoes are in honor of his grandmother (mom) who passed away from cancer 8 years ago.

I'm extremely proud of him not as much for the successes that he has but for the way he carries himself under pressure and leads his team and is a role model for all the younger kids.

He doesn't have the interests his dad has with chainsaws, tractors, pickups, and construction, but he is on a great path and that's the most a parent can hope for.

Set up the "scaffolding" yesterday and got some more insulation installed and the windows all nailed off. Fortunately I realized one of the windows wasn't square before nailing it off, even though I had them all set so I thought. Only installed one more piece of siding, but hope to get a few up today, but I need to do a bit more insulation and some j-channel after the next sheet of siding.

I spent some time in the "gym" today.

And then I took the 066 out for a walk.

The exercise is as much.for my mental health as physical health. By mental health, I mean mostly just depression and anxiety. It works wonders for me. Now if it was psychopathic issues, I'd say chainsaws and axes may not be the ultimate treatment. (e.g. Leatherface, Lizzy Borden) But for beating these gray sky days, it's the perfect medicine for me.

If you're talking about the Japanese plank holder and trailer puller, you gotta have the right tools for the job lol.
Three of us are sick currently, but it was nice out, so you're going outside. It's been pretty slow got the last couple weeks since my boy got sick(breathing issues), he's finally getting better. Maybe I can have this thing dried in sometime in 2024 lol.
Managed to get the siding up to just left of where I was standing in the second pic, only 7 pieces to go to finish that level on that side. Then I need to do the other gable the same way, all 56' of it, then finish both gables. Hopefully they are open Monday or Tuesday and i can pick up a couple more sticks of j-channel and order more of the 104" siding for the other gable. If they aren't, I can always spend a bunch of time around the holidays putting more insulation up 😟, I'm so ready to be done with that. But, I know, it will be nice in there when it's finished and I ha e something needing to be worked on, so I press on!

Got some organizing done in the shop today.
Bars and chains are sorted, .325 on left and 3/8 on right . Turns out i have over 60 chains. Thats ridiculous.

Getting my saw bench cleaned up and put together. Blocked it up 3 inches to make it more user friendly, for me anyways. Need a coil for the old 029.

Not impressed with the Remington sign department. They butchered both "Rollag" and "Hawley". No wonder they went out of business....they couldn't even spell. 1000004710.jpg

Looks great, I'm ready to get some things set up in the ship, but it's gonna be a min yet.
What's the splitter you have there, really want to build/mod one. Hope to have it movable under its own power with a lift for rounds. Haven't decided whether I want a pusher into a knife or box blade or a table with a vertical cylinder/wedge.

That splitter is an old one made by Schweiss. Built around 1980. It's pretty bare bones (no one had any money in 1980) and slow but it will go through anything. On its 3rd motor (5hp). We have another spltter that is set up for tractor hydraulics but of course it won't go through nearly as much. I'd like to rebuild it with a 2 stage 16 to 22 gpm and add a lift, but really don't need it enough to justify the cost. Also would love to have a 4 way.....

I prefer this setup, (fixed knife) just wish it was faster.

We now have a break in the snow supply 😉 so I finished dividing the maple tree 🤠
Is that a screw type splitter? 1 was just looking at kits for those a minute ago. I'd like to see it in action. We have no shortage of tractors around here.
