Gat damn near every day here until January. Rain for 4 days, cloudy and no rain for 1, rain for 4 days…..

We don’t see sunshine very often from October through March
Agree 110%, I am moving. Not really, been here since 1989 and expect it now. Just another day without sun, work outside between rain drops. Maybe sun tomorrow. Enjoy.

Well back to the old Vermeer SC252. Was super excited to try my new Greenteeth set up and belt, should be great right… well not so much. Last week my first job with the set up went great for about an hour, then the belt slip and loss of cutter head power came back. Next 4 hours was absolutely terrible barely taking bites and still stopping the cutter head.
Good news is I found a great Vermeer dealer somewhat local in Manassas Va that knew what they were talking about. Ordered a new upper pulley/Sheave, another dang $50 belt, and they suggested I order hub bushing as they are known to crack. Man big thanks to them, cause it did.
I’m hoping now I can actually go to a dang job and just let her eat and she performs the entire time, I don’t have to buy parts and hopefully I can make a dollar!!!
Course from the pics you can tell how worn that sheave was, lol.

Spent a couple of hours or so further breaking down the huge Eucalyptus I've been chipping away at and finally managed to get it clear of the fenceline it had smashed. The only saw I used (except when I jammed it) was the XS346XP, I love that angry little beast thanks to @huskihl ! I still need to fall and buck the stand of very tall Eucalyptus you can see in the background of the second pic.

And I gave the D2 a good hose and scrub down:

:roflmao:Were you referring to the 346 or the D2 Kev? I nearly took a pic of the 346 laying idling completely upside down after I set it down and left it to shift a piece of wood :D. I once spoke to an old timer who used to operate D2's and he said I would run out of balls before I got the D2 to a position where it would roll, apparently they would operate on a 50-degree slope.....

Odd thing happened today, orange ball appeared in the sky. No rain, so finished these trees, seemed like I was making it a career. Owner of tree service brought a new 572 over that one of his crew dropped running into Higgins lake. Blew it out, filled with mix and letting it dry out.

Got the shop heater fired up. 30k btu Mr Heater ventless propane. Replaced the regulator/hose assembly and the inlet fitting. Needed a 3/8 NPT elbow with male threads on both ends which was hard to come by. Local plumbing supply house had a brass elbow with female threads on both ends. A couple of short nipples and good to go. Sealed everything with liquid PTFE and good to go.
