Got this decent 8 pt on Sat (opening morning). Four of us stayed up there in my cabin.

The wood stove got a real workout keeping us warm. The cabin is uninsulated, 20'X 24" 2 stories, which is challenging to keep warm when it is 15* the first night and 10* the next.

It is very important to set the damper based on the wind, but when the wind changes dramatically from bed time to morning it messes things up.

Thanks Jeff, it is rewarding to take a deer on your own property, the last one I took on my property (also an 8 pt) was 8 years ago. Since then, I've been taking deer down here with the MZ and Cross Bow (rifle is not allowed down here). My Nephew has taken several deer and a bear during that interim period, I guess it was my turn!

There seems to be a resurgence of wild life up at my property (50 acres in the Catskill Mtns). There were tons of Bear, Deer, Turkey, Grouse, Coyote, Bobcat and other unidentified critters tracks in the snow up there. It is good to see, but it pisses me off to see the numerous ATVs with guns cruising around on the trails on the mountain. You are not supposed to hunt that way, and you don't see them parked with the rider off in the woods, so you know they are just cruising for game.

Unfortunately, there is almost no enforcement of this stuff. But, this year I'm :)

Plus, it is tougher hunting up there. The Mtn is 22,000 acres of woods, the deer can "get out of Dodge" for weeks, and you almost never have a clear shot (the tornado damage a few decades ago has resulted in massive new growth). It is both challenging and rewarding.

When you step out of the cabin at night and look up at the sky … it is so different up there! I'm Mtn top (2,200 ft) and 2 mi in on a 4wd rd., off the grid.

Great views of the Cannonsville Reservoir from both directions.

Had to put a new radiator in my truck. Done in around 2 hours, so far no leaks and right back to normal operating temperature. Dark now so I'll wait and drive it tomorrow to be sure everything is good to go.

I WAS fabricating a nice little topper for an old school cast iron radiator...till the corner of it blew off. The sugary material like that is often crumbly and weak.

I don't know what you are talking about. I rarely see radiators, but all I have seen are free standing, or a sheet metal shielded pipe running along the bottom of a wall.
