The wife and I were powerwashing a Carlton SP-2000 stump grinder that I drove out to Virginia to buy (used) and a guy from one of the lawn services stopped and asked if I'd grind out a cherry tree stump at the Catholic church that he mows. So we did. I take this is as a good omen. I believe this machine just might pay for itself before the end of summer.... we picked up 3 more jobs for this week before nightfall. One was a neighbor who walked over and asked about it when we got back, the other two were also drive-by stump grinder chasers who saw it in the yard and stopped.

I had a feeling I'd be glad I bought it... but this is rather silly. Apparently, all I have to do is leave it in the front yard and let it advertise itself. :)

Went to the funeral of an old friend. We drank, doped and ran the streets together many years ago. Apparently he never got out of the old life. Thankfully I got out through the power of Jesus Christ. Saw some old faces and learned that many of the others are already dead. Certainly a sad occasion.

Went Stihl chainsaw shopping in Leticia, Colombia today. Due to the strong dollar, prices are actually less now than in the USA.

MS660 is about $930 with a 36" Duromatic bar and chain. The bar is very wide. They also had it with a 36" ES sprocket nose bar.
MS461 was $973 and I don't recall which bar but it was long. Maybe 32"?

Both of these were German made, not Brazilian. They also had many other models but those are the ones that caught my attention. So I'm thinking I could have left there with an MS660 powerhead for about $875 bucks. I don't need an MS660 but I think I may have drooled a bit before I walked out the door.

I'm in Bogota, Colombia now vegging in a hotel before tomorrow's flight to Miami and then Atlanta. Sure am looking forward to wrapping my arms around Groundi. It's been a while.
