Worked and then came home and took my mom out for ice cream in my 64 gmc.

Helped little brother (XP_Slinger) finish the 2" lift on his '85 Chevy K-10, did the transfer case drop on my lifted '78 K-10, and did a little grinding on my 359 cylinder. Just matched and beveled those hideous lower transfers.

Started assembling my 394 project only to notice that the flywheel side case 1/2 has a 2 1/2" long crack in it.

Yes it does. I bought a lot of 5 saws. 2 o46's, 2 288's and the 394. I sold one of the 046 and 1 of the 288 and it paid for the whole purchase price so it's not the end of the world. I know where I can get a set of NOS OEM cases.

My Dad always told me you weren't a good mechanic unless you ended up with spare parts.

Sucks you sorta broke your saw, hopefully it'll be a sorta easy fix.

Sucks you sorta broke your saw, hopefully it'll be a sorta easy fix.

Not broke,just inoperative. Two washers apparently make space for the springs between the flywheel and recoil dogs. None of the partstree ipl's show my particular fasteners,dogs,spring and washer combination. Both my 262's have the same setup.
